Replay Theatre Company discovers that we’ve been awarded funding from the Belfast City Council / Arts Council NI Creative Belfast Fund! Lots of jumping up and down for a day. And then the serious planning begins……
Our Project Manager and Engagement Co-ordinator join the BabyDay Team. Sam, our Engagement Co-ordinator quickly sets about talking to our key community partners – all of the Sure Starts right across Belfast and the groups that form the East Belfast Early Years Network.

TiNY tours for six weeks around all of these centres with great responses! We meet A LOT of babies! The singing mice play a blinder and it feels like BabyDay is well on the way….
Our Project Manager has her own BabyDay and little Emily Bagnall comes on board as Project Manager’s Unofficial Assistant!

The next stage of the conversation with our key community partners to plan the Four Corners Workshop programme which will take place all over the city.
Our BabyDay Comms Manager comes on board and we start dreaming up loads of fun stuff to spread the word about BabyDay!
We’re part of a six city UK-wide screening of Dr Suzanne Zeedyk‘s film Connected Baby – Suzanne is a leading early years Developmental Psychologist and is one of our Inspirational Voices on BabyDay and will be around on the day itself!
February – June 2015
Workshops all over the city – fun with video, with words, with nature, with song and much much more! Families are invited along to our Imagination Stations where we start conversations that will inspire the artists that will make our playful popup installations for BabyDay! Watch this space…
Award-winning composer, Neil Martin, starts working on a Belfast Lullaby – a brand new commission that will be sung at the end of BabyDay outside City Hall.
And in the middle of all of this, Replay goes to Broadway! Our first BabyShow BABBLE travels all the way to the New Victory Theatre’s 42nd Street Studios for a 2-week run. And we’re telling all those Big Apple babies about Belfast’s BabyDay!
Thanks to support from Rent-A-Merc and Arts & Business, we pop up all over the city with our Glam Your Pram workshops where the whole family can decorate their baby’s buggy in weird and wonderful ways! Venues included the Ulster Museum and Transport Museum, the NCT sale and Belfast Zoo.

Our babyshow TiNY goes out on the road again – touring to our community partners in Sure Starts and other groups across the city including Mediation NI and The Red Cross.
Our Expecting Something project begins. Four groups of expectant mums from the four corners of the city, from Sure Starts and other community groups – this really is arts at the heart from the very start!
Our BabyDay Backers group gets together for the first time. A small group with representatives from each corner of the city, these guys will be our focus group, our ambassadors and will organise their own event for BabyDay!
Our BabyDay Baby has arrived! A gorgeous 3d version of the BabyDay logo as drawn by our Associate Artist, Patrick Sanders. Here’s Baby in our vintage Mothercare pram!

The Big Day – September 2015
It’s finally here! All systems are go in the final weeks until 27th September 2015 – the world’s first BabyDay – right here in Belfast!
Just a week after BabyDay, our babyshow TiNY travels halfway around the world to be the first ever babyshow in South Africa as part of the SA-UK Seasons 14-15, working with Magnet Theatre Co in Capetown to start a home-grown babytheatre movement!
